Support Engineer
About the job
The Support Engineer I is responsible for providing first level installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of broadcast specific hardware and applications. This hands-on individual will have the day to day responsibilities for monitoring and responding to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques;
* Provide support services over the phone, email and other remote assistance;
* Upgrades and/or maintain broadcast related equipment at all stations;
* Assist with the rollout of new or replacement equipment where necessary;
* Assist with the develop and implementation of SOP’s pertaining to company-specific equipment configuration;
* Assist Station Monitoring in first level support troubleshooting technical issues in the field;
* 10% travel to other sites for training, installations, upgrades, etc.;
* Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
* An Associate’s degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training or work experience;
* Basic knowledge of broadcasting terminology;
* Ability to operate and troubleshoot broadcast related equipment standard to the industry;
* Ability to troubleshoot IT and Networking related issues as they pertain to a Television Broadcast facility;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high focus and positive attitude when performing telephone support;
* Ability to remain professional, focused and multi-task during multiple emergency off-air situations effectively and efficiently;
* Must be able to meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail;
* High proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite;
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business and technical publications, professional journals, white papers, instructional manuals, schematics and technical procedures
* Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
